Welcome to The Handmade Bride!

My name is Anna B, I was married in December 2011 and it was through my own wedding preparations that the handmade bride was born.

A frustrated artist and small animal vet, from Hillsborough County Down, I found my  own wedding the perfect excuse to exercise my creative skills and stitch something more than dogs and cats! I enjoyed the experience so much I decided to share the skills I acquired with others, creating beautiful, bespoke hand crafted items and wedding styling for brides in search of something a bit special.

My signature piece is the vintage brooch bouquet, or the ‘forever bouquet’ as I like to call it as, unlike fresh flowers, you will have it for generations to come! These pieces are often given extra significance by incorporating pieces with a personal meaning. My own bouquets carried by my bridesmaids contain various sentimental items like part of the cake topper from my parents wedding, my new initials and a brooch of my Grandmothers.

As a recent bride myself I understand the importance of even the tiniest details and  work personally with each individual bride to try and make her dreams come true.Please have a look and feel free to get in touch!
